Ever True Roadmap to Recovery

Roadmap to Recovery

The Brown Ever True Roadmap to Recovery offers a timeline of programming and activities spanning weeks, months, and years on the path to healing for the Brown community. It will evolve as the community moves forward together. In keeping with public health best practices after a traumatic event, the recovery effort is for the whole community, and acknowledges that every individual recovers differently.

We also acknowledge that the Brown community is not alone in confronting trauma and violence. We appreciate understanding the experiences and perspectives of community members from other universities who have suffered in similar ways, and who have so generously shared their own views and lessons learned as we plan for the long-term repair of our community.

Recovery Activities Spanning Spring 2026:

  • Thoughtful planning for the future use of the Barus & Holley, Prince Lab and Engineering Research Center (ERC) complex
  • Remembrance events and ways to memorialize the victims and honor those injured with broad community input
  • Broad community discussion to inform priorities for campus-wide security
  • Expert-led conversations to understand – and address – the potential challenges that students, faculty and staff may face after a traumatic event, and offering ways to help build resilience
  • Small-group discussions in person and via Zoom to provide support and connection
  • Resilience trainings and workshops, framed to address the specific needs of our community as they change over time and manifest uniquely for each person
  • Continued access to comprehensive mental health resources for the whole community
  • Expanded access to relevant courses and workshops offered by experts on and off campus
  • Broad community discussion to inform memorial activities at Commencement
